Kangaroos

Kangaroos are large animals that live in Australia.
Kangaroos are not mammals, they are marsupials. They are a tiny as jelly beans when they are first born and they pull themselves up to the pouch to live on their mum’s milk.
Baby kangaroos are called joeys. In six months the joeys are allowed to go out of the pouch. If they go too far away the mum will call them back.
If a joey’s in a pouch while a dingo’s nearby she will drop her joey in a safe place and come back later.
A strong male kangaroo is the boss of the mob. A mob is the group of kangaroos. If another kangaroo wants to be the boss they will fight. They fight by kicking and punching.
