The bell rang and everybody was excited as they ran into the classroom. We all went to toilet and then got a drink and raced up to the front field. We found our lines and sat down on the blue tarpaulins so that we didn’t get our shorts wet.
First the year six girls went then the boys and it kept going wn all the way to the year three girls and went on a bit further. When it got to the year three girls it was my turn. I swept to the line and got into position. It was about there minutes until e could start. I had huge butterflies in my tummy then suddenly Dave crashed the wooden blocks and we all started to run. I saw a slow, young looking girl. I overtook her. I could see the finish line. I sprinted and then I was in the tube. In it you are not allowed to pass but an older girl pushed in front of me. I would have come 19th but I came 20th because of her. I walked to the drinking fountain then skipped happily back to the blue tarpaulins and sat down to cheer the year twos.
Finally it was time to go back to room 5. Viv gave us our sentence books then we all happily walked or ran quickly to our parents and went home.
